Today was a very exciting day. We got stopped by the cops at the IFFCO Chowk intersection (you'll hear it in the recording). Another thing is, we're podcasting from XpertHR.co.uk as well. So if you've came through there, WELCOME! Hope you also enjoy the rest of the episodes on the site.

And if you don't know about the "If I can change one thing about HR..." series, you should definately check it out here.

Both Jeanne and I are usually in some sort of a 'leadership' position in companies we work for. Performance is almost always in our minds partly because we're managing teams, people etc. and partly because we're marketers. Today we're sharing cases that we've experienced along the way in managing employee performance. If you like to hear more about HR topics that we talk about, I suggest you tune in on Monday, where we will share what we want to change in HR. You should definately check out If I could change one thing about HR series (it'll make a nice weekend reading!)

Today we talk about the shocking news (well, not that shocking, I had my suspicions) about Three Cups of Tea, the book we recommended to you guys in this episode. On an interesting note, you should read this article on the Forbes blog. That talks about the lessons we should learn from this.

Hey everyone! We're talking about the Indian IT gaint Infosys and the lawsuit they're facing on visa violations. You can read about the article we discussed on the show here. It's part of India's growing pains really. We debate whether this is due to HR practices here or whether it is there for any other company that is expanding. Hope you enjoy the show, and let us know what you think!

We're answering an excellent question by Zachary, one of our listeners on why we're in India. (Read his question here: http://belowthefold.posterous.com/below-the-fold-episode-1) And the things that folks in India do very well, like catering to the masses who do not have a lot of money.

Enjoy and have a great weekend!

We're continuing our little rant from the last episode about dealing with cultural differences in the workplace and really different communication styles. How do you deal with it? How do you teach your staff and team to tackle this problem?

In continuation with our Social Media Branding talk yesterday, we're talking about where to start your branding process. Do you define your target audience first and brand for them or do you make your brand something that you (and your company) aspire to? What are your opinions?

  • About

Below the Fold is a daily-ish podcast show produced by two expats - Jeanne Heydecker and Yu Yu Din - living and working in India. The show is taped on our way to work in Udyog Vihar, Gurgaon. This show cosists of entirely our opinions and do not represent the views and opinions of our respective employers or clients.

Below the Fold explores the topics that most expats or managers would not bring to the forefront or topics that are not always "politically correct" to bring up. We mostly talk about marketing, India, cultural issues, globalization, management, and whatever else that's in the news.

Hope you enjoy. Please leave comments and suggestions of topics in the form of comments.
